“GO BE GREAT!”
I heard this said to me by one of my greatest mentors, Michael Bernoff. He said begin your day assuming you are already great and then go be great. Consider that for a moment. What if you started your day with that statement? What if you said that prior to walking into the dental office? Can you imagine that? By the time you reached our office, checked in with our patient care coordinator, and sat in the dental chair, those powerful words will have naturally reminded you of your courage, strength and more importantly, YOUR DECISION to invest in your health and take care of YOU!
As you say these words out loud or even in your head, do you notice the boost in your confidence? Again, imagine if you were to say this prior to coming to the dentist. You will notice that your experience at the dentist will be much more relaxed, easier and more enjoyable. Most especially, you will enjoy being you!
I now find myself saying "Go be great!" to my patients, team members, colleagues, friends, and family. The response I now get compared to when I used to say, "Have a great day!" has been so much more meaningful, impactful and beautifully rewarding. I remember the first time I said, "Go be great!” to my patient during her recare exam. My patient lit up, I felt the energy shift from a typical check-up exam to a more joyful experience of connection and empowerment for both myself and her. She gave me a big smile radiating from ear and ear and genuinely thanked me. I truly felt she recognized the greatness she had within her and that she could now conquer the day and whatever laid ahead.
I challenge you all to feel what I felt and experience what I said and heard. GO BE GREAT and share these powerful words with your family and friends, and most especially yourself!
